COVID-19 Blog - Our Response
Check Out Lill's Toilet Paper Story:
In early March, I had just returned back from my vacation in Florida, only to be caught in this COVID-19 pandemic. Everything had shut-down that week and, to my surprise, I went to the stores only to find that I could not find any toilet paper - ANYWHERE! You can only imagine my dilemma.
Well, Okima and I were working at our respective hospitals, and had been dealing with PPE shortages (everyone knows that term by now). This sent me scrambling to make masks as well as scrub caps for my fellow co-workers to help protect themselves. The scrub caps were initially traded for - you guessed it….TOILET PAPER!

I had received so many rolls of toilet paper, I could've started my own TP business. LOL! But I decided to continue making caps for the first responders that needed it the most. Many of the caps have also been traded for a donation to one of our favorite charities, the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes is very near and dear to our hearts because it provides education and support to families and healthcare workers on healthy pregnancies and premature births, as well as funding for research on these issues.

To date, there has been 199 caps that have all been distributed to healthcare workers and I am still in the process of making more.

Switching gears, COVID-19 stopped a lot of people in their tracks, including us. We have done a lot of thinking, soul-searching, and praying about our role in this new reality. We strongly believe that we are needed more than ever as a home healthcare company focused on kids.
Being a small business right now has created some financial challenges for us. However, we are more excited now than ever and believe that if we work together, we can achieve our goals. Please consider helping us and making a donation to KIDS Home Health Care and we will send a scrub cap to you, your favorite healthcare worker, or any other essential worker of your choice. In this time, we are not helpless...but we are saving 'til it hurts'.
Thanks for all of your help!
